Slong was born into a wealthy clan of weavers. In order to seal a merger, her parents had the
teen-aged Slong married to Lord Ketch DeRay, head of a clan of textile manufacturers in the
Negligee Sector. This is where she gained the title "Lady
". Her husband was killed two years
after their marriage in a textile worker's revolt, which Slong finally put down (after appearing to
the crowd dressed in a lacy set of [Editors Note: The remainder of this parenthetical expression has
been expurgated to keep this site off too many blacklists]). Slong, sick with grief and feeling alone,
joined Starfleet to help in the Pug Wars. During the war, she befriended the Pug Warrior Banzai, whom
she adopted as a pet, and is now a constant companion.
Because of her hereditary title, Lady DeRay has received a permanent assignment to the Here Y'at
Sector, which includes Negligee. She is also the only fleet commander to have served on all of her
ships.

- On the final mission of the CAPTAIN BLACK, Slong proved her
command ability by saving the motley krewe of the heavy metal freighter
BON JOVI from the Remoulades.

- Slong capturs the Klingfree CHERRYHAWK Cruiser
TOLITPAPR. Unfortunately, the MINNOW
became enveloped in the Klingfree invisibility shield, and was lost in space for four years.

A.S.S. PIGEON
- Slong again gained the attention of Starfleet when she and her Pug Warrior Banzai became
separated from a landing party on the planet Milk Bone. While separated, they discovered a
party from a science scout of the planet PURINA, lost for 15 years. Upon their return, Slong
and Banzai were awarded Purina's highest medal, the Puppy Chow.
- Following service on her other ships, and a stint at Starfleet Academy teaching uniform design,
she returned to the Stupefying Sixth Fleet as Fleet Commander, witht the rank of Rear Amiga.
Lady Slong DeRay proved herself during the Fugahwe incident, following which Admiral of the
Fleet H. L. Niagara promoted her to the rank of Private Corporal Sergeant Lieutenant Admiral.

- Suffered severe losses as her fleet was the first to meet the Bjornns. Later rallied her
remaining forces to a convincing victory in the final days of the Bjornn Wars.
