Administrivia

This is the part of the conference, er, web site where I tell you where the various sanitary facilities, snack machines, and the coffee pot are located. Or maybe it's more like the starship operator's manual, telling you about the various controls and maintenance items.

Our Intended Audience

This web site is intended for adult and near-adult audiences; parental discretion is encouraged for children and young teens. This site contains strong sexual innuendo, occasional profanity, and non-graphic violence, all in a humorous context. Oh, and plenty of funnies about the solid, liquid, and gaseous by-products of organic life. We offer equal-opportunity for the thin-skinned to be offended; politically correct we definitely ain't. Just know that the ethnic groups we poke the most fun at are represented in our own membership: Italians, Cajuns, Creoles, Germans, Jews, Negros, Yankees, and Rednecks. Usually each of us knows the best jokes about ourselves anyway, so why not share? Various weaknesses of the flesh, such as alcohol and prostitution, get coverage. There's even a bit of subtle bestiality innuendo, but we never mix sex and violence in a glorifying manner. SO, block us from the elementary and middle school kids, and find another site if you're easily offended. The rest of you, just laugh when you feel like it. And if you don't get the joke, try pronouncing that strangely spelled name. Just not in polite company.

What's New?: Major site updates

I'm not going to bother with all the little tweaks I'm constantly doing, but whenever I add a new page, section, or significant content change, I'll note it here, so you can find the new stuff easier.

2006-05-13 through 2006-05-20
In honor of what should have been Derrick's fortieth birthday, I posted the third play, In Search of Spot. I also added a short javascript to the home page to display the current stardate. This meant changing the DOCTYPE of the homepage to XHTML 1.0 STRICT. If you don't have javascript (or have it disabled) this section will not appear. I've also added more bios (P-S), and posted the latest update for the Katrina List.
2006-02-08
Added icon for firefox web tabs to all pages. Moved the Katrina Fandom page into the list of content and the navigation scheme. Added a Google Free Site Search to homepage and sitemap.
2005-09 through 2005-12
In the months following Hurricane Katrina, there's no time for keying in funny pages. Cleah daFleaux maintains a list of New Orleans area fen and their whereabouts via phone and e-mail, and I publish it (after purging street addresses and phone numbers) on this site and add another Feedback/email page for the list.
2005-07-11,12
Administrivia changes: Intended Audience, this "What's New" section. The Biographies N & O. I also hooked up the Feedback/email page.
2005-07-04
Addition of the officer bios page and bios from Polly Esther Blynnd through Mitch.
2005-06-26
Addition of the administrivia page and its subsidiaries. The feedback page has not yet been "hooked up" at the web site.
2005-06-22
The new site replaces the under construction sign. Most of the content is the same as the old site, but it is all in xhtml+css, has better navigation and accessibility, has been reorganized so that the papers and Dr. Fortran are within the Omnibus, and I added the radio play page and two radio plays, The Wrath of A Con and The Return of the Boobyprize.
2005-02-18
The domain name comes up, and an insipid orange "under construction" sign is posted. Later the same evening, the second millenium site is uploaded and made viewable.
